What Is Your Plan for the Next 3-4 Years?
Question
What is your career orientation for the next 3 to 4 years?
Answer
In the next 3 to 4 years, I have a clear plan with three stages.
In the first year, I want to focus on delivering high-quality work and going deeper in my current skills: backend development, database design, and system performance. I also want to understand the company's products and business clearly, because good developers need to understand what they are building.
From the second to the third year, I plan to expand my skills to DevOps, such as CI/CD, Docker, cloud deployment, and monitoring, so I can understand the full software delivery process from development to operations. At the same time, I want to mentor junior members and take more responsibility in designing solutions, not only coding them.
By the fourth year, my goal is to become a team leader: someone who can guide the team, communicate well with other teams and stakeholders, and help the team deliver products with good quality and predictable timelines.
In short: first a strong developer, then a well-rounded engineer with DevOps skills, and finally a leader who can help the team and the company grow.
