What Would You Do If You Were Going to Miss a Deadline?
Question
What would you do if you were going to miss a deadline?
Answer
If I see that I may miss a deadline, I inform the PM as early as possible. I explain the reason, the work that has been completed, the remaining tasks, and the expected impact on the schedule. I do not wait until the deadline to raise the issue.
At the same time, I propose practical options. For example, we could prioritize the most important features, reduce the scope of the first release, split the work into phases, or ask another teammate for support if appropriate.
After discussing the options, I work with the PM to agree on a realistic plan and provide regular progress updates. My goal is to be transparent, protect product quality, and help the team avoid unexpected delays.
